Rimini, with over a month of celebrations, boasts the longest New Year’s celebration in the world, the only Italian billboard that is not just a night’s party, but it’s much more: a kaleidoscope of music, art, shows, DJs sets and concerts that, from December to Epiphany, transform the city and its cultural sites into an open-air stage, culminating with the party on December 31st.

It will be the unmistakable voice of Filippo Neviani, known as Nek, with his 25 years of successes, 19 platinum records and 10 million records sold worldwide, the protagonist of the live concert on December 31st in Piazzale Fellini. A musical journey that will lead the public towards the new year through the great successes of this great interpreter of the Italian songwriting.

The program also includes photographic portraits at the Castle, electronic and Latin sounds at the “Complesso degli Agostiniani”, and a thousand and one parties in the places and squares of the historic center.

Do not miss the appointments with music, prose and dance: this year the billboard of the world’s longest New Year meets the inaugural program of the Galli Theater, full of events of the highest level. It embraces various genres, including the great lyric opera that will make its new entrance to the theater thanks to the ‘Simon Boccanegra’ by Giuseppe Verdi, conducted by Valerij Gergiev on December 10th and 11th and with the traditional Opera of the New Year, ‘Carmen’ by the lyric choir Amintore Galli.

In addition, during all the holidays the suggestions of Christmas propose Christmas villages and markets, Nativity scenes and ice-skating rinks both in the historic center and at the beach.

From December 1st until Epiphany Piazza Cavour becomes ‘L’Opera di Natale’, a widespread coordinated exhibition that includes the exclusive sets that celebrate the reopening of the Galli theater by the creation of an open-air foyer animated by events and music in Piazza Cavour. The flower Christmas market designed by Giardini d’Autore, transforms Castel Sismondo into a fairytale castle. The Isotta Wing will also host the Christmas Market by Pacha Mama and an exhibition of unique and original Nativity scenes made by immigrant communities. Finally the Christmas market in Belle Epoque style in via Poletti, the ice-skating rink and the French carousel in Piazza Malatesta.

In addition to the widespread Christmas events in the historic center, the beach offer the traditional sand Nativity scenes and the Rimini Beach Christmas village animating the beach (from number 20 to 28), the beach promenade (Lungomare Tintori) and Viale Vespucci with games, fun fair, flea markets, entertainment for adults and children and the house of Santa Claus.

In Torre Pedrera, at the beach 65, other splendid sand sculptures will remain open to the public until Sunday 13 January.

A very rich billboard that counts over 150 events not to be missed.
