A trip to central Australia is a journey of delights. Kings Canyon Guided Rim Walk brought forward the true majesty of the land, highlighting the deep oranges of the rocks the mighty natural formations along with a chance to achieve varying levels of challenges, depending on your ambition. The steep climb at the beginning is the toughest part and all over in 8 – 10 minutes. The rest of the walk is so breath taking showing off ancient rock formations, deep dark pools and prehistoric cycads. Our guide explained so much to our small group because he cared so much about the region with its history, geology and the First Nation people who have so much history behind this amazing walk.

Our guide did not arrive and we had to wait for 45 minutes after the walk to get the bus back to our accommodation. In general we paid for very little.

The booking was unclear about the pickup location, we were staying near Uluru in yulara but found out the night before this tour was picking up in Kings Canyon so we missed the tour. Luckily the tour company helped us book another tour because they said this happens all the time because Viator is not clear so fair warning to book through the company offering the tour and not here. Big disappointment. Would have lost all our money if the tour guide had not helped us out, luckily for us! Not impressed with Viator.

The walk was worth the hike up the stairs and the Garden of Eden was beautiful and very unexpected. Recommend highly

Exhilarating climb, which I never thought I would be able to do, but the views were breathtaking, it was a hard day but we’ll worth it, medium fitness but you need determination to get up there.
