The trip serves as a reminder to all that war is something we must do everything we can to avoid. The cost of war can be seen on every kilometre of that railway, even to day. It was a cost borne not only by the conquered but also by the conquer. A sobering reminder of man’s inhumanity to man.

Our guide worked very hard, was very accommodating about personal requests and was knowledgeable. That’s what I look for in a good guide! Excellent!
Juli_J –
Our tour was very informative, enlightening and moving. The suffering of POW’s during WWII was unimaginable and taking this tour captured the history with great detail. Rach was our guide and did an excellent job narrating events and took great care of our group. This tour should not be missed by anyone who wishes to learn more about the construction of the 415 kilometer railroad between Burma and Ban Pong, Thailand.

The trip was very moving & certainly gave you food for thought about those poor prisoners of war & what they had to go through. We only had about 15 minutes here. The boat trip was exciting although rushed because they were trying to get us to the Kwai bridge to catch the train. We only had 5 minutes at the Kwai which was very disappointing. I am sure we could have caught a later train. The views from the train were very beautiful. The whole trip was very rushed & you did not have time to enjoy it & have a wonder by yourself. On the website it set out the time you would have at each part of the trip which were completely over estimated. The tour guide was very good.

The guide was very knowledgeable, had plenty of stops for drinks and toilet.
Did feel rushed at the war museum with the guide constantly looking at his watch.
Managed to walk a little on the bridge until the guide rushed us back to catch train.
Lunch was very good.
Picked up at 5.50am and returned at 7.30pm, didn’t appreciate making a detour to drop passengers off at a restaurant after such a long day.
Yuen_M –
Its exciting to see the train arriving and as it horns and moves its way onto the track. The scenery of the padi fields is super although is hot and hazy. Will be coming back again at a more cooling season.

The driver and guide, was very good, the guide was very knowledgeable, a lot different when I can 20 years ago, but still a good day
Terry_A –
The guide was very knowledgeable. It’s a long day with an early start, but well worth it. We enjoyed both the long boat and train rides, and the museum was interesting. You get a lovely lunch with fantastic views of the river. Excellent value.

The war graves were very emotional but the graves are well kept. The setting where we had lunch was beautiful and the food was lovely. A fantastic day out
Amanda_W –
This is a fabulous tour for history buffs. The train ride through the jungle highlights the conditions endured by the POWs.
The tour was a long day, but well worth the experience.

Interesting to visit places of historical note. Our guide, Rach, was informative and very caring and kind. He went above and beyond to make our experience memorable.
Lovely buffet lunch.

Unfortunately the bus we was on was ready for retirement, our guide although a nice bloke was very uninformative generally, he was ok with basic knowledge but noticed other guides were much more specific and switched on and engaged with clients. We enjoyed the tour in regards to what we saw, thought the train ride a bit long and boring but we had to do it to see what was at the end.
Cinder_D –
Amazing tour. Our guide, Oom, was very informative. We learned so much more about the war and the railway
Andrew_O –

A very memorable trip. Tour Guide Khun Oom was very informative and gave us enough time for all the sites. Would recommend this tour and agency.
However, I was unable to upload photographs.

The Death Railway train ride, and that too in a third class coach, was the highlight for me. Watching the Thai countryside roll past was almost meditational – I was lost to the world for that 1-hour ride.

Absolutely fantastic trip! Worth it, well looked after, we loved it, would recommend to get out and see the countryside and we learnt lots of history.
