We had a great Austin City Tour (Austin Detours) with Guide Evan Ford. He was terrific. He really knew the history of the area and all the cool parts of the city. He gave us great recommendations for other things to do or places to eat in Austin (like breakfast at Paperboy–really fantastic experience–or shopping along South Congress Avenue). The tour included stops at the iconic Austin murals and a guided tour of the State Capitol. The tour began and ended at the Austin Visitors Center. That too was a great place (friendly, knowledgeable staff and a cool gift shop).

I adored our guide, Avery. She was very knowledgeable but managed to share tons of info in a really entertaining way. The format gave a super overview/ introduction to the city. The statehouse visit stands out as the most memorable for me.

Great value for “MUST SEE” spots in Austin — and Evan was the absolute best guide ever! He made the tour fun and interesting with his vast knowledge, great sense of humor and fun personality. He even stayed around after the tour was done to make sure he gave each person specific information about additional things they wanted to see. The whole tour was very personalized because Evan took the time to find out each person’s specific interests at the beginning of the tour. I will definitely recommend this tour (with Evan for sure) to friends and family visiting from out of state. Well done!
