Had a fantastic day, very informative, a couple of hidden extra locations thrown in. Todd the tour guide was amazing, friendly and fun. Would highly recommend this trip!

  2. Gillian_M

This tour was well organised and our driver, Mark, was knowledgable and entertaining. We had several quick stops at points of beauty as well as Port Arthur. Port Arthur is beautiful and the guided tours there are exceptional.
I would highly recommend this tour.

  3. Maria_Z

Highly recommend this tour. The walking tour was great and tour guide was very informative, Good to see the history being preserved. Memorial and the gardens on the site are absolutely beautiful. A really enjoyable day.

  4. Patsachol_K

The tour was nice and the driver Tod took care of us very well. He showed us many wonderful spots. I love this trip!

While Port Arthur is so seeped in tragedy and has such a sad and hard past, it was an honour to be able to visit and wander through the grounds learning about its history. Andrew our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and sometimes humerous in his retelling of Port Arthur’s history. We took the Harbour Cruise around Isle of the Dead which was well worth it. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the buildings breathtaking. Our bus driver Colin, highlighted many interesting places on our way to Port Arthur, so a full tour is definitely worth doing.

We were collected from our accommodation on time then treated to a very professional and informative day starting with the coach driver then the guide at Port Arthur. We had time to wander before going on the 1/2 hour boat cruise which gave us the opportunity to view the site from another perspective . We were delighted with our trip home which featured the Devils Arch and Remarkable Cave. We were both so happy we chose this tour on our one free day

This is the trip to take. Driver (Mack) provides a great narrative throughout the drive. Each segment an adventure. Highly recommend.

  8. Linda_M

Mark made the day special commentary was excellent and we had plenty of free time. We always knew what was coming up next and plenty of choices

  9. Shane_M

Port Arthur was an awesome place. The only downside was that we couldn’t spend more time there. If we did it again, we would drive ourselves and spend the whole day there. The harbour cruise was disappointing.

  10. Sillykiwi

An awsome tour with a lot of History, albeit rather cruel. Mark coach driver went more than the extra mile ti make sure we all had a great time

  11. Terence_E

This is a great trip for getting a real feel of this large penal colony and its cruel history. The boat trip just emphasising how isolated the convicts, and staff, must have felt. The driver and the onsite guide were informative and helpful.

Not a bad experience. Need a bit more details service should explain before buying the tickets. More timing spend. Remerkable cave 15 min walks is very tide.

  13. Valsamo_G

There was no guided tour when we got to Port Arthur which is what I was expecting. The day was too long & dragged on. Could’ve been reduced by 2 hours.

  14. Brian_N

Morning pick up, driver/guide was great, entertaining, and informative. Well worth the time and money. Evening drop off in town.

  15. Robert_W

The Port Arthur tour was very interesting. We had lots of time to walk around the complex. All landmarks were clearly signposted and informative. The cruise around The Island of the Dead was sobering. We enjoyed the brief stop over in Richmond on the way there and the surprise stop at Tasman’s Arch, a highlight of the day. Thank you to Christian who kept us entertained with his jokes and commentary. A great day was had by all in our group.

  16. gill_m

Great day out and Port Arthur was surprisingly beautiful.
Well organised, we were dropped off with clear instructions where to be when.

  17. Lorraine_B

I was disappointed to discover that there is no guided tour of the port Arthur site included with this trip. The bus driver provides a history of Tasmania and the penal colony on the drive to the site, your given a map and the opportunity to download podcasts to help with your self guided tour. If you want a guided tour you have to arrange one with the official guides at the site when you arrive.who are very knowledgeable, So it really wasn’t what I expected from the description. There isn’t much to see on the boat cruise around the isle of the dead so if your pushed for time you wouldn’t miss anything by skipping it.

  18. Trisha_M

A full day of “oh wows”….just when you thought you’d seen something amazing around the corner was something else, fabulous day. Our guide was professional and super informative.

  19. Maryam_H

Friendly ppl, nice and complete guide, on time schedule. Visited as many as places that was possible and would recommend it.

  20. Marlene_C

Drive out to Port Arthur was scenic and enjoyable. Mark our driver/guide filled us in on what we were seeing and some of what we would see when we got to Port Arthur.
We made several stops that were breathtaking. The history of Port Arthur as a men’s prison for repeat offenders was grim but historic. Tasmania, as mainland Australia, was where many UK prisoners were sent., to colonize the country and relieve crowding at home. The beautiful countryside of Southern Tasmania was also made the trip worthwhile.
