Gayndah the Oldest Town in Queensland Australia

Gayndah is the oldest town in Queensland Australia formally gazetted in 1852. A bit confusing when Brisbane and Ipswich are both older than Gayndah. The latter are both closed as cities and Gayndah a town.
Known as the orange capital of Queensland. Twice a year the orange festival is held displaying the abundance of locally grown fruit. The rich souls along the banks of the Burnett River were discovered to be ideal for commercial growing of oranges and mandarins.
The town mascot Gay Dan can be found next to the Big Orange.

Possibly the only town or city in Queensland with vertical street signs. The change away from horizontal street signs was implemented due to vandals bending them.
