Colorado Canyon City Skyline Drive USA’s Most Scenic Drive

I always thought that the California road from San Francisco to Los Angeles was the most scenic drive in the United States. Well there is another contender for first place. Bring on the Skyline Drive in Colorado State. I think it would be fair to say also the most hair raising and scary ride. Definately only for the brave out there to try.

Skyline Drive is located just west of Kansas City. This narrow one-lane road is a thin strip of road sitting on top of a ridge. This is a Drive with all around views but let’s not forget that there are no road markers or railings along its it’s route.

Skyline Drive is situated between the base of the Rocky Mountains and to the west and Canyon City. The road is nearly 3 miles long but there are plenty of pull offs for taking photos.
