Great Ocean Road 12 Apostles Tour USD 55.37. Beat the crowds and see the best of the Great Ocean Road on this reverse tour. Most tours travel along the coast first and then head back to Melbourne via the inland route, but this tour does the opposite. Start off admiring great rock formations including the 12 Apostles before making your way along the coast to Torquay, stopping along the way to see koalas, kangaroos, and the Memorial Arch..

This is a great trip and we highly recommend it. The Great Ocean Road is scenic and beautiful. Neil was our patient and friendly driver, he gave us great commentary along the way. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Surprising spectacular view at 12 apostles. Reverse tour gets you to highlight before crowds. Long coast with nice beaches but not unlike California Coastal Drive. Stops with opportunity to see Kangaroos, koalas, and birds. We had beautiful weather, bad weather might make a difference.

Operator messaged day prior, advising they may cancel the tour due to lack of bookings but wouldn’t commit one way or the other until later in the day hence making it difficult to make alternative plans. Tour happened, and was very good – great guide.

Great tour, wonderful scenery, my only complaint is the transport. Rather aged vehicle was used for the tour, it was cramped and stuffy with 4 people at the back seat, could hardly hear the tour guide talking from the back . The vehicle used was not suitable for long hours or whole day tour like this…so uncomfortable.

Good scenery. Unfortunately the van is a little small for a long road trip. Would be more comfortable if it was a bigger transport.

The reverse tour was great because we avoided the crowds, however, we feel that we did not spend enough time at the scenic points. We felt rushed. Especially during lunch. We had at the most 45 minutes at the 12 apostles and 45 minutes for lunch at Port Campbell foreshore. We also arrived back a little late at our hotels. So you might want to plan for a late drop off. Our driver ashley was knowledgeable and he has been a tour guide for four years.

Places we visited were worth the hours in the bus and all the waiting. Not everyone in our trip followed the rules when to be back at the bus.
Our guide Colin (?) was nice. The bad point was that his pronunciation was not always easy to understand. I didn’t get all the times when to be back at the bus etc.
The bus was old but ok. The driver did a really good jobb.

Lindsay was a wonderful guide, knowledgable and really cool with everything 🙂 definitely worth the money!

Long day but I personally enjoyed every minute of it . So many stops, beautiful views, wildlife , especially the koalas and parrots . Our guide Neill was so patient and nice he even made sure I got dropped off at my hotel a bid out of the way at the end of a long day . Thank you for a beautiful day .

Amazing budget tour along the Great Ocean Road. Compared to other tours, this tour is slightly cheaper and we weren’t sure what to expect. That said, the tour was excellent. Leaving Melbourne around 7am, we were in a brand new 24 passenger van with AC (we were worried about the quality of the van from other reviews, but that definitely wasn’t the case as the van was in excellent condition). One thing to note was that we did the tour in the normal direction (and not reverse), but honestly that was great as well and allowed us to sleep in the bus on the drive back to Melbourne. Neil was an excellent driver with lots of experience who gave just the right amount of time at each stop. Even though the tour was running a bit late, he brought us past London Bridge (adding a few more hours to the tour) and we couldn’t be more thankful. He also brought us to a couple of locations to see Koalas and Kangroos in the wild. All in all, excellent value for money and a great tour by an accommodating, knowledgeable guide. Would recommend to anyone going to Melbourne in a heartbeat.

Nobody told us that we will go with different tour schedule. It was no reverse tour – just regular tour. Driver came for us late over one hour, than driving so fast and we missed some of the points of intetests. There was no rainforest walk, we had shorter brakes than in a schedule. It was really disapointing.

Friendly nice tour guide, very good value for money, would recommend. It is a long day (12 or so hours) but didn’t feel like it.

the tour was advertised as a reverse tour, but we did not. I asked the driver at the end why we didn’t and he said it didn’t matter, we would have had the same amount of people at the 12 apostles. Explain that one!! The tour also advertised a walking tour of the rainforest, well we through at 60km per hour and never slowed down. The driver said look for koala bears and take their picture, how do you do that when you are going 60km per hour

The guide are so good, a high quality service, knowledge and professionalism, the places that we visit was really nice and the time was perfect

Great journey to see The Great Ocean Road, our driver Neill did an excellent job even though one couple was late back every time!
A long drive for the driver but his commentary and good humour made the journey worthwhile. Many stops for photo shoots and we even managed to spot kangaroos and koalas! The chocolate factory was well worth a visit!Lunch stop in Apollo Bay was very welcome, excellent fish and chips for $10.

We took the trip on the 9th of March and we took the reverse itinerary Great Ocean Road trip. We had Jimmy as the driver and tour guide . He was funny and gave us historical insights to the places we went. It was a long trip but worth it
Thank you Jimmy for a lovely tour

  17. Steven

We have a pleasant journey with tour guide Jimmy. Great support and hospitality, definitely will come back again for next visit.

  18. Maxime_B

Jimmy is the best guide you could ever have. The beaches were amazing even though the weather was not nice !

  19. Jean_T

Milan our tour guide was very nice the entire time, giving us some infos and a bit of history about the tour. Thank you so much. We had a great time.

While the sights of the trip was good. There was not much commentary from the driver. He arrived late to pick us up as he had to hire the bus to get us there. The bus was ‘small’ and people who had long legs, their legs was jammed against the seat in front. The window seal on the bus window was coming apart. The recommendation for lunch was too crowded and we had to search for another place.

Fantastic tour that brought us to all the highlights of the Great Ocean Road. The best part of our trip was our tour guide, who provided constant commentary on our surroundings and intriguing insights into what we were seeing and Australia’s rich history. He was constantly looking out for all of his passengers too and helped me see my first wild koala! I had a fantastic time and couldn’t recommend this trip more highly.
