Sam is a great guide, he’s very responsive and prompt. The bus that we travelled in was comfortable for the long journey. The circuit walk around the Dove Lake was incredible and the Enchanting Walk was as the name suggests, quite enchanting. The weather was perfect for the walks and photographs. The day trip was well planned to allow for adequate time at Cradle Mountain – it didn’t feel rushed at all despite the long distance we travelled to and back. It alleviated the need for a stay at Launceston just to cover the Cradle Mountain. Thank you Sam for the wonderful trip!

We were really lucky to have found this your as every other one to cradle mountain was booked out. This is also the only tour departing from Hobart if you are spending most of your time there and planning to do other tours from Hobart like we were. It truly was a big day requiring a bit of stamina but absolutely worth it. We had perfect weather on our day and the views were stunning. Great option if you want to check off cradle mountain amongst the many other attractions if you only have limited period of time in Tasmania.

Wow! What a fantastic day out to cradle Mountain! Absolutely well worth the long trip to get there but many many stops along the way to see some of what the little historic towns along the drive have to offer.
We were lucky enough to get some snow fall on our walk which made it that much more special.
Our guide Sam from derwent experiences was great and very friendly making it a very relaxing trip from beginning to end.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tasmania.
    Its a must do!

Only tour to cradle mountain from hobart, long day but well organised that you get plenty of time there to do the hikes
Sam also breaks up the journey to and back well so that you don’t feel it, plus the bus/van is very comfy and roomy with charging ports

Enjoyed a good amount of time walking along the tracks near Cradle Mountain. Sam brought along snacks and we could grab a drink afterwards at Peppers before heading off for dinner at Deloraine (good selection). The Cafe stop in the morning was OK and there were plenty of toilet stops along the way. Thanks Sam for getting us to Cradle Mountain safely – has been a highlight of our Tassie trip!

Sam was a friendly, safe, and patient tour guide. This tour was the highlight of my trip to Tanzania!

We had a great time spent at the Cradle Mountain today. Sam was a very nice and attentive tour guide. We were lucky to have great weather today so we decided to hike up to the Marion’s lookout. The view from there was breathtaking and well-worth it. Highly recommended!!

Getting picked up at 6 AM!! But well worth it. To see this much of Tasmania in one day was spectacular. Our guide was wonderful, knowledgeable and so friendly. We learned so much about Tas. and it’s history and culture, not to mention the beauty of Cradle Mt. A must do

It’s the longest 15 hours day trip from Hobart but totally worth it. The couch is extremely comfy with recliner chairs and charging ports. Great stops for breakfast till dinner meals. Eventhough it’s raining at cradle mountain, the views are still stunning and fairly easy. Sam is a fantastic tour guide, we had so much fun at the stops along the way, enjoying the best locally grown apple, meeting Hercules and seeing the southern Cross.

This was an EPIC day – a 15-hour day fleeting by thanks to the wonderful planning of a great guide/driver Sam at Derwent Experience! Everything worked out perfectly despite the overcast weather. Sam made the early 4-hour drive there pleasant with a stop for a lovely group breakfast to start the day. Once we arrived at Cradle Mountain, there was no sense of rush. We had plenty of time on two wonderful trails – not only got to enjoy the full views of the beautiful Mountains and Dove Lake but also got to see many wombats up close as they graze near Rooney Creek… On the way back we stopped at a lovely restaurant for a wonderful group dinner in a private area to further connect…. In Hobart, no other operators want to do this tour saying it is “crazy” to do a one-day tour to Cradle Mountain and back. But Sam did it in style! At the end of the day, not only did we thoroughly enjoy the trip, but also enjoyed each other’s company and formed a strong friendship among our small group of 5 (plus Sam and his lovely wife who happened to join us that day). This was one of the most memorable tours I had in Tasmania! Thank you, Sam!
