The trip was beyond anything we could ask for. In many years of travel, no guide was better than Marina. The train was fun and efficient, Pompeii was, well, Pompeii! The winery was beautiful and fitting follow up to Pompeii. Nothing short of excellent, if you are in the area and don’t go, you wasted a golden opportunity!

The meeting point was in the train station and we were seen on the train by a company representative. Once we got to Naples, our guide Ida was waiting to take us to the coach for a 20 minute ride to Pompei. It poured rain the day we went, yet she kept up the energy in our group. We couldn’t see the volcano due to low cloud cover/rain, so that was disappointing. Tours are not canceled if it rains, so plan accordingly and wear good shoes. We had plenty of time with a guide who showed us the highlights and explained the history. After Pompei, we rode by coach to a nearby winery for lunch & wine tasting. There were five varieties of wine. Overall this was a great experience.

Had a great day at Pompeii. Our guide Vincento (sorry if it’s spelt wrong) was fantastic. An archeologist himself, so really knows what he’s talking about. Answered all our questions in a knowledgeable way. He’s also very funny. Our lunch in the winery had to be changed to a pizzeria as the Gyro bicycle race was on, but again the new venue was great. Food was lovely and you could choose what you wanted to drink from wine to beer to soft drinks. Would recommend it.

Ida was our guide and extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii! She led us through crowds and rain to see the highlights and painted a picture of what life was like there. The winery was beautiful, and we got to taste several delicious wines and a tasty lunch!

We took the All inclusive Rome to Pompeii trip because it was the easiest way to get to and see Pompeii from Rome. I’m not one for large group tours—following a person holding a stick or umbrella and listening to commentary through a headset like a stream of ducks. But this approach seemed the only affordable option that handled all of the transport logistics. It was a very organized tour considering there were about 80+ people broken into four groups of about 20. The meeting points were clear and the train travel was easy for those of us who are accustomed to European train travel. For those who aren’t, you’ll be fine. No one got lost or left behind but you can’t dawdle. The small coach ride took about 20 minutes from Naples and our tour guide, Enzo, was very knowledgeable. Enzo is a restoration professional who is a native from Naples and an expert in ancient Roman history and engineering. He has a slight academic style but is very friendly and did an excellent job leading a pack of English-speaking tourists through the uneven, perilous nearly 2,000-year-old streets, sidewalks, and select buildings uphill. This tour clearly states that it is difficult for those with limited mobility. That is very accurate as this tour is difficult for those without limited mobility. It’s a long, physical day, which could have bordered on miserable if it was hot or raining, which thankfully it was not. Much of the newly discovered sections are not open to the public yet, which is understandable and disappointing. Taking this tour was better than trying to navigate the journey and the site alone. But it’s still a typical, large tour group that requires patience with those on your tour and recognizing that you can only see so much in a limited time. Enzo did a great job navigating all of the trip’s logistics and group dynamics to ensure no one got lost and everyone was where they were supposed to be at a certain time all while sharing his passionate and exceptional knowledge about Pompeii. It’s a tough job and he handled it with professionalism and grace. If you can’t handle large group tours, a long day, and rough terrain, don’t go to Pompeii. It all looks the same after awhile and the pictures online are more extensive than what you will see. If you want to see ancient history up close like I did, have an open mind, patience, and stamina to enjoy the experience. This tour group handles the multi-faceted challenges and nature of the beast exceptionally well.

Trip was great! Our tour guide is knowledgeable and super friendly. The bud driver is also awesome! The only thing the tour could improve is the lunch menu. I found that the pasta with red sauce portion is very small in portion and there is no main meal. I thought the pasta would be followed by the entree. Everyone was thinking the same. I

Antonio was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and funny. Took us around Pompeii and tried to avoid the congested areas. Then took us to a vineyard for lunch which was relaxing and delicious. Would recommend this tour

Pompeii was great, as was the wine tasting and lunch, but what made this excellent was the fact that everything was planned for us and we were chaperoned from each train terminal so we didn’t get lost or miss the train. We’ve never taken any trains in Italy before, so the clear instructions from the tour company were really helpful. It was also much better than being on a bus all day!
You might want to eat a little before the train ride though, because lunch was at like 2:30-3pm, so definitely on the later side. The food and wine were both very good and they were generous with the pours. I do a lot of wine tastings and this was an excellent experience. The smoked mozzarella was amazing!

Pompeii ruins were unbelievable. Veronica was exceptional. Wine tasting and lunch were refreshing. The weather cooperated.

Ida was AWESOME and what a Great Experience!
My son and I enjoyed the well organized and informative tour.
The bullet train is the only way to do this trip. Fast smooth and easy. It was well organized and Ida was always full of great info. She is a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to engage with.
Everything went off without any issues.
We looked into the other less cost day trips (shuttle buses) but in the end we are very pleased we paid the extra cost for the train. When I compared the drive (while on the train) the whole day would taken an extra 4-6 hours due to bad traffic between Rome and Pompeii. As it was we got back in time for a peaceful evening around Rome.
I couldn’t imagine a better experience, better laid out event or better guide.
We would greatly recommend this tour and company.

Wonderful trip and guide, Carla was fantastic. Very helpful, knowledgeable and caring about the group.

Our guide was so knowledgeable, so she made the whole city come alive. We really felt the personality of the city, and what life there may have been.

  14. Eileen_M

The details were handled so beautifully, and our guide’s knowledge seemed endless! We ended up in a torrential downpour and she handled it beautifully. Adding on the winery lunch was the perfect way to cap the day. We even ordered wine! Highly recommend!

  15. Amy_M

Amazing!!! Travel time was minimal and well organized. We moved at a nice pace through the Pompeii ruins and our guide Antonio was great! It culminated in a serene wine tasting with delicious late afternoon lunch. Generous portions. Highly recommended!!!

It was a perfect tour with Pompeii and the winery to relax after. The whole day was wonderful and very organized. We loved our tour guide, Antonio, who brought Pompeii to life for us. Antonio was very knowledgeable, interesting and charming. The winery was beautiful and so relaxing after Pompeii. The food was great. I would highly recommend this tour

  17. France_L

Pompei is incredible. Wines and food, delicious! Our guide Rosella was excellent. I would recommand.

  18. Rick_A

Very enjoyable tour. Right amount of time spent in Pompeii, is able to see a good portion of the ruins. Winery was a delight. A three course meal with good tasting wine.

Dr. Felicia was an excellent guide. We had been on a similar tour 7 years ago, and learned much more this time.
The lunch was mediocre by Italian standards.
The absolutely horrible part of the trip was when we left the winery to return to the Naples train station. The van driver had left the van in the sun and had not turned on the air conditioning before the group returned to the van. The ride to the station was torture. There was no excuse for this. I give Felicia 5 stars and the driver 0.

This was an amazing experience. I strongly recommend it. My only suggestion to get better is on the distribution of tickets. It was a bit hard to found the tickets to get train from Termine to Napoli. The email had the links at the end of text and it was bad visual to find and download it.
