We took a 2 day private tour of Istanbul the date after our arrival to Istanbul. Our private tour guide was Ülkü Simsek who picked us up at our hotel on time & for 2 days she took us around Istanbul by metro, boat & walking most of the time. We experienced the city exactly how we wanted…seeing the merchants hustling,
    stopping whenever we wanted to,
asking questions and getting Ülkü’s answers to all our questions, and visiting the sites included in the 2-day tour. Ülkü
was flexible with our itinerary, and we thoroughly enjoyed all the places we visited such as: Dolmabahce Palace, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Kapali Carsi (Grand Bazaar), Bosphorus cruise tour, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome, Sultanahmet Square, Church of St Anthony of Padua, and many more.
Overall, we had an excellent tour guide and a beautiful 2-day tour of this great city!

This was the best tour we have ever had and it’s all thanks to Kemal! He was extraordinary! Kemal was so passionate about the history of Turkey and explained everything so easily and clearly. He answered all of our questions with thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. He showed us all around Istanbul and even took us on the metro to the spice market and helped us shop around. We learned so much from him and had the best day! I definitely recommend this tour if you are wanting to know more about Turkey’s culture and history. And Kemal is the absolute best and you will have a great time with him as well, we will be like family by the end of the tour!

Our tour guide Sirken turned up for us in a very short notice and he was really helpful in making our city tour memorable.

Great tour of Istanbul. We saw everything from mosques, palaces, museums and great neighborhoods. We walk, took the public transportation wich included tram, funicular, cable car, ferry and we did a cruise. It was the best tour we had ever done and our guide Ozzy was amazing. He gave us all the information we wanted, brought us to local restaurants to have local delicacies and showed us hidden treasures around the city. We highly recommend this tout

Two days of walking around Istanbul. Our guide was very knowledgeable, but often walked far ahead while we wanted to stop to take photos. We also did not know prior to the tour that we needed a tram card. The guide used her card to pay for us and we paid her back later. We could have arranged this 2 day tour through our hotel which is what I would recommend for future travelers.

Mustafa our guide was fabulous. Explained the history of everything we saw on the excursion.
    We were never rushed.
We truly enjoyed our day in Istanbul. We were a group of 10 a d had a private van.
    Highly recommend.

Emre was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable but no information overload. He asks you how much detail you want and basis your tour on that. Very patient with our 13 yo grandson’s numerous questions. Highly recommend!!!

This was the best way to efficiently explore in a short period of time. We kept our tour flexible and told our guide the main areas we wanted to see and our guide Caner, helped us minimize waiting in line. He was also able to buy skip the line tickets for the basilica and topkapi palace and we went right in. He was very knowledgeable and tailored his presentation to our group, which included two seniors and elementary/middle school kids. The company was very responsive on WhatsApp throughout the whole process!

We had a wonderful walking tour of Istanbul that included all of the major attractions and delicious local cuisine. Our tour guide, Eser, was extremely knowledgable, friendly and we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend him!!

What a fantastic tour. Our tour guide. Ohmar spoke excellent English and provided just the right amount of history to educate us all and keep our teenagers engaged. We got to see all of the key sites. My son said it was the best tour he had ever been on, and his favorite stop of our entire journey. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Istanbul and request Ohmar, who was a fantastic tour guide.

Our time with our guide was valuable as he shared the history of the periods. Istanbul is rich with history, not just sites. We visited palaces, mosques, churches, cistern, gardens and local communities. The walking tour was a good match of our energy. Our guide used public transportation and taxis when appropriate. The spice market and bazaar lived up to our imaginations. Volcan was a terrific guide. Remember to have local currency for transportation and entry fees … all VERY reasonable.

Started of with a misunderstanding from the booking company not the tour company. The excursion main focus was from cruise ship to the airport with a excursion of cut Istanbul city day trip. Our guide explained that this did include a ride to the airport. He made it work!!

We enjoyed our day seeing many of Istanbul’s sites. Our guide did a great job getting us around without having to fight the crowds. We learned a lot and never felt rushed. It was hard to hear our guide in the van and at the sites if you weren’t standing right next to hime. It’s all walking since the sites are close together so wear comfortable shoes. Ladies bring a scarf for your head at the mosques and make sure your legs are covered. Despite what some say, pants were widely worn and accepted as long as they went past your knees. Do be aware that the guides coordinate with the carpet sellers so when they ask if you want to see the carpet-making process what you’re really doing is learning about the carpets and being given a high-pressure sales pitch. I will say the sales pitch is pretty entertaining but know before you go what you are getting into. We saw the exact same carpets at the airport bazaar shop for half the price of the carpets they were trying to sell us. If you do buy a carpet and decide you don’t want it you can return it easily without too much hassle, assuming you are still in the country. There’s a lot to see in Istanbul, it was great having a guide who knew the area and could navigate the city.

We had the best guide ever. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our Istanbul experience was fantastic and the stories behind every place we visited just added to the beauty of the city

This was the perfect 2-day tour for us. Emer was incredible. My husband had recently recovered from an accident, and he pushed the wheelchair up and down hills, arranged for a private wheelchair elevator in the Cistern, and adjusted our trip so that we could see and do everything we wanted to in Istanbul. He was incredibly knowledgeable about everything. We highly recommend this tour and would take it again and again because there is so much see in Istanbul.

Our tour guide Mehmet was awesome! He was very nice, knowledgeable and flexible. My wife and I advised of our top things we wanted to see and he made it happen. There were huge crowds in town as the final football game was being played in Istanbul. He tailored our visits based on his 30yr experience and traffic patterns. Highly recommend and be sure to request Mehmet – you won’t be disappointed!

  17. Joy_T

This is an extensive tour of the sites! Be prepared to walk, walk, walk! Informative and good experience with a knowledgeable guide!

We had an absolutely wonderful day and tour with the guided Istanbul tour guide Gamze. We only had one day to see Istanbul as we were in a cruise and we covered so much and were able to customize to our needs. Gamze worked with us to match our pace, recommended delicious places and reasonable places to shop. As a tourist, it’s hard to tell where to go and where to shop and it was so nice to have someone to trust and guide us. She was also so considerate of my elderly parents. Very professional service and so knowledgeable – highly recommend to everyone!

We had a friendly and knowledgeable guide. It was a quick and efficient way to hit all highlights on shore.

My wife and I did a one day walking tour (was advised by a friend prior to visiting Istanbul) to avoid traffic. The tour was to be around 6 hrs but our guide, Oz, devoted 3 extra hours to us to show us even more. We saw a lot, we learned so much, we ate, we drank, WE LAUGHED! We are now in love with Turkey. I wore linen (pants and a short sleeves button down shirt) in mid June and I was comfortable / hot at some points). We took a taxi to our first destination and walked the majority of the rest of the way (14,000 steps to be exact) and then took the tram and subway back to our hotel. Because we were with a guide we found our way around easily. And we were also able to skip queues. We loved our time with Oz!
