Many thanks to our driver Mark, who was very friendly, helpful (going over and above to ensure all passengers were looked after)and knowledgeable about Kangaroo Island and Aboriginal language and culture. We had a wonderful day, the sealions were fantastic, remarkable rocks were…remarkable! and the Admirals Arch was amazing. Lunch was delicious, all in all a great day.

It was a great tour, we visit many things and none of the places was disappointing. The only bad thing might be that is quite long so I would recommend doing it but staying one night in kangaroo island so it reduces the coming back time and the island is worth the night

Adelaide: Well firstly, DO NOT go by the paperwork that tells you to get to the bus depot at Franklin Street by 6:15 am to check into their desk!!!! There is no one working at that desk. Secondly, DONT get there for 630 as per the paperwork and think that they are going to be there to pick you up at the time stated in the paperwork – wrong again. 7AM bus driver arrives.
No good morning no explanation, no apology from him.
Don’t try to sit in the front seat as he’ll speak to you rudely, like you’re a petulant child, and have done the wrong thing. No explanation.
Tour starts – bus is full. No official welcome, no introduction. Silence. I’ve been on a lot of tourist travelling 35 countries and I have to say this is the most unprofessional and awkward start to a tour I’ve ever been through. Next, 2 hours of silence. Not one word. Arrive at ferry terminal, told to take our things or he’ll sell them. Up the gangplank.. next issue: he hasn’t even issued us with any ferry tickets. Not one word of where to meet up after the ferry lands. Incredibly unprofessional.
Arrived on kangaroo island. Second bus driver: “good morning everyone and welcome. My name is Gary and you’re about to have a great day” with a big smile. Communicative, informative, funny commentary!!! Thank god, Now, we’re with a professional!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏 remaining day was simply fantastic. Well planned and fun. Just a shame that first bloke was so rude. Thanks for a great day out Gary. You’re an absolute gem!!!

    Remarkable rocks were amazing!
Some more time at KI Wildlife park would have been nice.
The tour guide Adam was both knowledgeable and entertaining.

Great trip out to Kangaroo Island. Informative, knowledgeable driver, Joanne was friendly and knew best places to visit.
Kangaroo Island is Australia’s 3rd largest so you need an expert guide to see the best stuff if you can only spend one day there, right?
Also a delicious lunch was provided.

We had a great day going around kangaroo Island. It was quite a long day, but it was totally worth it to go to everything in the itineraries. Lunches were delicious but very small portions. I would recommend packing enough to eat throughout the day. The tour did give us enough time to get dinner in the town before heading back which was nice. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable, it was fantastic. A must you for anyone in Adelaide .

  9. Bryan_R

Hamish our tour guide was excellent! He had a broad knowledge of the island and was very interesting to talk with. We saw a lot in 1 day!

  10. Dianne_O

Fabulous day on Kangaroo Island, facilitated by a knowledgeable guide with a sense of humor who grew up on the island. Highly recomment.

The whole tour was amazing, the highlight were the beautiful sea lion playing like kids. The lunch stop was incredible in the middle of the bush.
This island is like a mini Australia, it s all there. Those indigenous kangaroos are the cutest and softness I have ever seen. Don t forget to pet them in the park.

In Admirals arch we saw astonishing rock formation, beautiful sea view and sea lions resting on the rocks on one sight. There was a chance we could have seen also humpback whales. Kangaroo Island untouched forests alone along with countless kangaroos and koala are quite a sight

Overall a great experience. I did the hotel pick up which was really convenient. The coach to the port had a lot of people to pick up and the coach was almost full so good to get on the coach early to get your choice of seat. The ferry trip was comfortable and had bathrooms to use which were great after the long bus ride.
Once we arrived on kangaroo island, our guide Hamish waiting for us. Hamish was friendly and full of useful facts – now I know how echnidas mate! You do spend a lot of time on the bus but it’s expected as the island is quite large but the bus rides gave me a good chance to catch up on some sleep as it is an early start. Seeing the sea lions was the highlight and you do go past a large part of the island that was impacted by the 2020 bushfires. It really illustrates the damage the bushfires had on the island with the blackened trees among the slowly growing greenery.
Lunch was okay – a chicken salad (better than expected) and a cheesecake. You can get coffee/alcoholic beverages for an additional fee with the lunch. Bathrooms were available at each stop which was great. Hamish was also very patient with some guests taking their time in returning to the bus.
I recommend you bring extra food as it’s a long day and you are likely to get a bit hungry before and after lunch. We did get time just before the ferry to grab some takeaway dinner but options are limited and you want to get back on the bus on time.
Coach back was as expected. This coach back to Adelaide was completely full so also recommend to not be the last ones on if you want a choice of seat.

Great scenery at kangaroo island. On and off raining during the trip. Quite abit of time spent on the travelling though. The scenery made everything all worth it.
Thanks SeaLink for being able to accommodate my companion who is on a foldable wheelchair too.

Took well over an hour for the adelaide pickup sites, so the 9am ferry was missed and we had to go an hour later. The bus was to be at cbd at 6:30am (after hotel pickups prior to that time) and didn’t arrive till well after 7:30. Got to island at around 11 am, drove for about an hour for lunch, then did the tour sites. The tour caters to tourists and hotel breakfasts never start before 6:30, no food available until after noontime, and then none until snacks on returning evening ferry. The sites were beautiful, but soooo much driving. Had to cut the day 1-1.5h short due to impending storm, rushed through the sites, skipping one of them. Then drove almost two hours back to ferry, 45 minutes on ferry, which because the seas were rough, they opened the doors to allow breeze. Very cold on ferry with overwhelming, nauseating diesel fumes. then 2 hours back on bus to adelaide. Not sure it is worth all that for a few hours on the island. Scenery was beautiful, wildlife was scarce. Highlight was tour guide Hamish, who worked hard to make it a good day.
