Syracuse, Ortigia and Noto walking tour from Catania USD 119.3. Delve into ancient Roman and Greek history on a visit to both Neapolis Archaeological Park and Ortygia Island in Syracuse. Neapolis is home to some of Syracuse’s most notable ruins, including a massive Greek amphitheater that is still used for performances during the summer months. Marvel at age-old quarries and a Roman amphitheater where gladiators fought each other to the death. Afterward, head over to Ortygia Island―a small island that serves as Syracuse’s historic center―and nearby Noto, a stunning town filled with exquisite, photo-worthy baroque architecture..

If you want to see the highlights of Noto, Syracuse and Ortigia then this trip is a perfect choice. We had a very competent, multilingual guide who gave us a nice mix of history, cultural facts and gastronomic information. A perfect mix between guided tours and free time. For us this tour had a very good price quality balance. Thumbs-up

  2. Petra_M

Good trip, the guide wasn’t very knowledgeable .
The places visited are worth it.
Recommend it, especially in low season when the groups are small

  3. Elizabeth_C

Salvo treated us to good day. This day tour provides the highlights of each place and there was some independent time to shop or eat.

  4. Dario_B

Nice and experienced guide, who drove us to Noto and Syracuse, and showed us everything on those beuatiful towns. I recommend.

  5. FM_P

We had a very friendly guide, he gave us a lot of information.
Unfortunately the quality of the car was not too good.

Viator’s subcontractor tour operator never showed up and only after we called to ask where they where did they tell us they had no record of our booking (despite Viator confirming the day before). When we did call, the sub hung up on is and then when I called again did they acknowledge the problem but without explanation or solution. I would never book with Viator again as there is no accountability for their failures. Always find someone loral for tours. On another note, TripAdvisor, there parent company, has old information all over the place. The Civic Museum in Catania is still listed as being temporarily closed despite it being very much open. It is my opinion that I would look elsewhere for holiday information and bookings.

Nice tour of ortigia and noto. The syracusa part was mostly the archeological park where we were introduced to it and dropped off. Then we met back for ride back to catania

Loved this trip! Andrea has so much knowledge – I learnt so much from
Him in Syracuse, Ortiga is such a charming sea front! You can enjoy a spritz as you see everyone walking by! I loved Noto! Make sure you don’t miss out on the delicious granita at cafe Sicilia! Andrea was really flexible and always made sure everyone was ready to leave (and that we experienced this fully) even if meant longer working hours for him!

The trip to Noto and Syracuse was a nice mix of driving to and walking in two very different, but equally interesting places.
Our excellent guide Salvatore gave us plenty of information, but also time to explore on our own. A great experience!

Andrea was a great guide and driver. We had an issue with the pickup location, but that was because of the crowd in town for St. Agata day. It all worked out fine.

Salvo was the best guide I have ever had anywhere. He is professional, organized and knowledgeable. He kept things going at the perfect pace but gave us enough time to enjoy everything. The day an absolute blast!!! Definitely a must do tour!!!

The Guide was so nice and knew a lot about the area. We loved that we also had some free time in every city. Highly recommended!

  14. Inna_R

Market in Syracuse and Noto are the best parts of the tour. Despite of weather, traffic and luck of time, the trip was nicely organized and culturally full.

  15. Tracey_K

Can’t believe we got to see so much in a day out! Giuseppe was a great guide, so knowledgeable and helpful! Really enjoyed seeing Siracusa, Ortegia and Noto! Even caught the flower carpet 2024!

  16. David_K

Our guide Laurie was likable and accommodating. In a relatively short period of time we managed to see the majority of highlights in all three locations, yet it didn’t seem overly rushed. Highly recommended for those not staying in Syracuse who still want more than just a taste of this beautiful area of Sicily.

Nando is an excellent tour guide. He is a kind person with a great knowledge of the history of Syracuse, Ortigia and Noto. We really enjoyed his explanations and comments. Thank you Nando, We had a great day!

The tour director, Lara, is very knowledgeable about the local history. She is very helpful and makes the trip interesting.

  19. Ariane_K

Great informative tour and a good small introductory to the Sicilian history, life and myths.
Driver/ tour guide was on time and polite.

The archeological site is interesting. It is full of history and although not well kept, it is still worth visiting. Nato has beautiful and quite unique architecture. The Greek temple converted into a Catholic church in Ortigia should not be missed.
